A two-part, self-leveling, flame resistant, jetfuel resistant polyurethane sealant which cures to a soft, flexible tear-resistant rubber. It is highly resilient and has excellent recovery characteristics after extended periods of compression or elongation. ELASTO-THANE™ 200 is a bitumen extended product. For use in sealing joints in airfield runways, parking aprons and other areas where they may be subjected to fuel spillage.
JOINT DESIGN:
Suitable for all properly designed joints following accepted engineering practice. Joint width should be a minimum of 4 times the anticipated movement.
SURFACE PREPARATION:
Joints must be absolutely clean and dry. Sandblasting is recommended for concrete substrates. All curing compounds, old caulks, grease, waterproofing compounds, etc., must be removed. Polyethylene rod or polyurethane foam is recommended as a joint-filler and backup material. Fillers treated with bituminous products, grease or oil, should not be used. Where present, they must be removed or separated by vinyl tape or polyethylene film. All concrete surfaces must be primed with DECK-THANE™ PRIMER.
APPLICATION:
ELASTO-THANE™ 200 Handmix may be mixed with a low speed drill and suitable mixing paddle and poured directly from the container. ELASTO-THRANE™ 200 Machine Mix must be applied by a special plural component mechanical mixer which properly proportions the material.
