ELASTO-TEX™ DECK COATING
AVAILABLE COLORS:

Concrete Gray Tan Custom Colors Available

A Liquid applied, single-component, acrylic deck covering system. The system consists of FIBERGLASS MAT saturated with ELASTO-TEX™ BASE COAT by roller, sprayed with ELASTO-TEX™ TEXTURE COAT, followed by ELASTO-TEX™ TOP COAT applied by roller. Conforms to all known V.O.C. requirements in the State of California.

BASIC USES:
For waterproofing areas such as patios, sundecks, stairways, balconies, etc. ELASTO-TEX™ DECK COATING can be used in situations where a skidproof, wear resistant surface is required. It may be used on new decks as well as old concrete decks which are damaged or cracked. The system is suitable for exterior applications where a deck surface must be accessible for foot traffic the same day such as retrofit work. ELASTO-TEX™ DECK COATING can be used in situations where a skidproof, wear resistant surface is required, on new decks as well as old concrete decks which are damaged or cracked. The complete system is approximately 3/16" (4.8mm) thick.

APPLICATION:
Cover all areas to receive ELASTO-TEX™ DECK COATING with fiberglass mat butting edges together without overlapping the mat. Overapplying the fiberglass mat will result in unsightly seams in the finished system. Saturate the fiberglass thoroughly with the ELASTO-TEX™ BASE COAT at the rate of 50 sq. ft. per gallon (1.2 m2/liter), by applying with a roller, adhering the system to the substrate. Allow to cure a minimum of 2-3 hours based at 77°F (25°C). Apply ELASTO-TEX™ TEXTURE COAT by spraying at the rate of 75-100 sq. ft. per gallon (1.8-2.4 m2/liter). Different size textures can be applied by adjusting the hopper gun. Allow texture coat to cure approximately 2-3 hours. Apply ELASTO-TEX™ TOP COAT by roller at the rate of 100 sq. ft. per gallon (2.4 m2/liter). Allow 2-3 hours prior to allowing light foot traffic and 72 hours before allowing heavy traffic.

Yellowish Amber

A one component, moisture cured, polyurethane based primer for concrete and wood surfaces, used to promote adhesion of our polyurethane deck coating systems and joint sealants to concrete and wood.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
All surfaces which are to be coated must be free of contamination such as curing compounds, concrete hardeners, bond breakers, paint, etc. We recommend water-curing concrete instead of using concrete curing compounds. All surfaces must be clean, sound and dry. A light broom-finish is recommended for concrete surfaces. Sandblasting is recommended when possible, otherwise acid etching and wirebrushing may be sufficient. All solvents must be allowed to evaporate off before application over DECK-THANE™ PRIMER.

Except for non-moving shrinkage cracks, all other cracks and joints must be sealed with ELASTO-THANE™ 230, a single-component, polyurethane sealant. All surfaces, where necessary, must be primed with DECK-THANE™ PRIMER (or the primer specified in the product’s documentation) prior to application of the coating system, except for plywood in good condition. All surfaces must be structurally sound and adequately sloped to drain. Only exterior grade plywood, c.c.-plugged and sanded, in conformance with U.S. product standard PSI-66, must be used. Plywood must be installed with all joints tightly butted and properly blocked to prevent differential deflection between plywood panels. Only ring shank nails must be used 4" (10.2 cm) o.c. along panel edges and 8" (20.3 cm) o.c. at intermediate supports.

For best results, the surface that has been coated with DECK-THANE™ PRIMER should be allowed to cure for a minimum of 2 hours before the application of the polyurethane membrane or joint sealant. If for some reason the primer is allowed to cure in excess of 8 hours, the surface should be sanded and reprimed with DECK-THANE™ PRIMER. DECK-THANE™ PRIMER should not be applied over wet surfaces as full adhesion and penetration will not be obtained. Recommended coverage is approximately 250 sq.ft. per gallon on rough surfaces to 350 sq.ft. per gallon on smooth surfaces.

FLASHING:
Metal flashing must be installed at all locations where the horizontal deck joins a vertical surface and at all deck penetrations. Flashing must be nailed 2" (5 cm) o.c. and must be primed with STAINLESS STEEL PRIMER. All seams between plywood sheets and the transition from the metal flashing to the plywood deck must be reinforced by imbedding
a 3-inch wide strip of glass cloth tape into wet ELASTO-DECK™, which is brushed evenly over the seam to a width of about 4 inches (10cm) and a thickness of about 20 mils (.50mm) wet.
The application of ELASTO-DECK™ can subsequently be made immediately over the entire area including the taped areas.

 INTERCOAT ADHESION PRIMER (Silane-based)

Silane-based primer for preparing existing membranes and coatings for new polyurethane.
TECH DATA SHEET
AVAILABLE COLOR:

Clear*
*Clear liquid, or may contain a red dye, on request.

A one component, reactive silane based primer specifically designed to promote adhesion to existing membranes and coatings used to promote the adhesion of all of our polyurethane coatings to previously applied coatings, which are in good condition and well bonded to the substrate. NOTE: This product is not compliant with the new California SCAQMD Rule 1113. Please check with your local air quality district to verify that it meets their requirements.

APPLICATION:
Application of this primer to these surfaces is best accomplished by spray method. When applying to previously applied coatings other than our polyurethane systems, a check and test for adhesion is required. All surfaces which are to be coated with INTER-COAT ADHESION PRIMER must be free of contamination, un-sound paints, or oxidation, etc. All surfaces must be clean, sound and dry. Power washing and scrubbing may be required to prepare the surface. A minimum of two hours drying time is mandatory in all cases. If for some reason the primer is allowed to cure in excess of 8 hours, the surface should be reprimed with INTER-COAT ADHESION PRIMER.

COVERAGE:
250 sq. ft. per gallon on rough surfaces. Up to 350 sq.ft. per gallon on smooth surfaces. All solvents must be allowed to evaporate off before application of new coating over INTER-COAT ADHESION PRIMER. It is imperative that the surface that has been coated with INTER-COAT ADHESION PRIMER be allowed to cure for a minimum of 2 hours before being coated. If for some reason the primer is allowed to cure in excess of 8 hours, the surface should be reprimed with INTER-COAT ADHESION PRIMER before being coated. INTER-COAT ADHESION PRIMER should not be applied over wet surfaces, as full adhesion will not be obtained. Apply by brush, roller or spray. Containers that have been opened must be used up within one or two days since it is a moisture-sensitive product.

CLEAN-UP:
Because of the difficulty in cleaning up or removing cured INTER-COAT ADHESION PRIMER, equipment and tools should be cleaned immediately after use with ACETONE. Use only water based hand cleaners for skin clean up.

A two-component, epoxy resin based primer for use with ELASTO-DECK™ 5000 and ELASTO-DECK™ BT Systems. The primer may also be used with other polyurethane and epoxy systems. Modified epoxy resin cured with a special hardener to set up to a durable tough film when used on damp or green concrete. ELASTO-POXY™ PRIMER DG is specially formulated as a clear primer for polyurethane coatings that are to be put down under conditions which would normally be considered adverse for application, e.g. rainy, cold climates. Concrete may be damp, but must be surface dry. On green concrete (concrete that is more than 8 days, but less than 28 days old), concrete floors poured in metal pans, or where the surrounding water table might cause a damp condition, ELASTO-POXY™ PRIMER DG will set up to form a sound surface for polyurethanes to bond to. It also has excellent adhesion to wood surfaces. Equipment and tools should be cleaned immediately after use with Acetone, because of the difficulty in cleaning up or removing cured ELASTO-POXY™ PRIMER DG.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
All surfaces must be clean, dry and sound. Do not apply over damp concrete. Do not over-apply the primer. All water must be allowed to evaporate before application of the deck coating or joint sealant. For best results, the surface that has been coated with ELASTO-POXY™ PRIMER DG should be coated over within 8 hours, or it will have to be reprimed with another coat of ELASTO-POXY™ PRIMER DG.
