Type I: For horizontal surfaces.
Type II: For vertical surfaces.
A black, liquid applied single-component moisture-cured polyurethane coating, designed to form a seamless, flexible rubber membrane impervious to moisture. Once cured, ELASTO-DECK™ BT allows expansion and contraction over a broad temperature range and maintains waterproofing properties under continuous exposure to water. A two-component system is available, which does not depend on atmosphere moisture to cure.

BASIC USES:
ELASTO-DECK™ BT Type II has a thixotropic consistency and may be used on vertical as well as horizontal surfaces. ELASTO-DECK™ BT remains flexible from –75°F to +175°F (-59°C to 79°C). ELASTO-DECK™ BT waterproof membrane is intended for use wherever overflow water must be contained.

 ELASTO-DECK™ BT H2O (Polyurethane)

A seamless, flexible rubber membrane, with unique water-cure chemistry that is waterproof under continuous exposure.
TECH DATA SHEET | PRODUCT BULLETIN
RESEARCH REPORT | MAINTENANCE MANUAL
AVAILABLE COLOR:

Black

A black, liquid applied, polyurethane coating, designed to form a seamless, flexible rubber membrane impervious to moisture. It allows expansion and contraction over a broad temperature range and maintains waterproofing properties under continuous exposure to water. ELASTO-DECK™ BT H2O does away with the unpredictable cure times and potentially undesirable side reaction with atmospheric oxygen and provides a bubble free dense, non-gassing elastomer with a very positive, controlled cure rate, allowing extremely thick layers to be applied without the gassing and foaming expected of moisture cured urethanes under similar conditions.
The addition of a specific quantity of water on the job site, blended with the ELASTO-DECK™ BT H2O is what provides this positive cure, in combination with the unique chemistry that eliminates the carbon dioxide from the curing membrane, creating a smooth, dense, waterproof elastomer. Very rapid cure rates are achieved as well. Cured films are tougher, more tack free, and have no cellular structure.

BASIC USES:
ELASTO-DECK™ BT H2O allows expansion and contraction over a broad temperature range and maintains waterproofing properties under continuous exposure to water. ELASTO-DECK™ BT H2O Type II has a thixotropic consistency and may be used on vertical as well as horizontal surfaces. ELASTO-DECK™ BT H2O remains flexible from –75°F to +175°F (-59°C to 79°C). ELASTO-DECK™ BT H2O bridges hairline cracks and because of the materials flexibility, allows them to move with changes in temperature. The product is fully bonded to the substrate so water cannot flow underneath the lining as it can with sheet lining materials.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Allows expansion and contraction over a variety of substrates, including concrete, metal, and wood
  • Resistant to U.V. exposure and some liquid chemicals
  • Non-Potable Water Lining - concrete-based above and below grade reservoirs or storage tanks
  • Bridges hairline cracks and allows them to move with changes in temperature (it is fully bonded to the substrate so water cannot flow underneath as it can with sheet lining materials)
  • A bubble free, dense, non-gassing elastomer with a very positive, controlled cure rate, allowing even extremely thick layers
  • Very rapid cure rates

WATERPROOFING USES:

  • In between concrete slabs, such as parking decks, roof decks or courtyard areas over subterranean parking

FLUID APPLIED CONCRETE WATERPROOFING

ADVANTAGES:

  • Cold applied in one day, even in hot, dry climates: no hot kettles, no torches, no open flames, no hot seam welders, safe for workers
  • A bubble free, dense, non-gassing elastomer with a very positive, controlled cure rate, allowing even extremely thick layers
  • No “washout”, as with emulsions and acrylic latex during rainy season.
  • Controlled thickness: A non-variable thickness is probably the only positive feature of a Peel ‘N Stick preformed sheet good.
  • ELASTO-MAT™ 100 does away with the unpredictable cure times and potentially undesirable side reaction with atmospheric oxygen and provides a bubble free, dense, non-gassing elastomer with a very positive, controlled cure rate, allowing even extremely thick layers to be applied without the assing and foaming expected of moisture cured urethanes under similar conditions. The addition of a specific quantity of water on the job site, blended with the ELASTO-MAT™ 100 is what provides this positive cure, in combination with the unique chemistry that eliminates the carbon dioxide from the curing membrane, creating a smooth, dense, waterproof elastomer. Very rapid cure rates are achieved as well. Cured films are tougher, more tack free, and have no cellular structure.
  • The characteristics of ELASTO-MAT™ 100, as shown above, enable this extremely innovative waterproofing membrane system to be completed in one day to its full specified mil thickness. ELASTO-MAT™ 100 automatically controls its thickness, as dictated by the thickness of the PAC POLY MAT, acting as a matrix, visually securing that the proper amount of waterproofing is used.
  • ELASTO-MAT™ 100 is liquid applied and fully bonded, which is the great advantage it has over sheet goods, where the seams are a problem, as are any kind of punctures, making leak detection and repairs a serious problem.
  • ELASTO-MAT™ 100 eliminates the need for most separate crack and perimeter treatments. PAC POLY MAT 60 and 45 are special non-woven polypropylene fabrics of controlled dimensions, providing the thickness gauge as described. ELASTO-THANE™ 500 is suggested for cant strips and penetrations.
  • The quick absorption into and saturation of PAC POLY MAT 60 and 45 by ELASTO-MAT™ 100 are the direct result of the water cure features, as exposed to moisture cure, eliminating gassing, foaming, and pinholing, when the membrane is used in thicknesses of 90 dry mils and much greater, if desired, in a one day installation.
  • The entire ELASTO-MAT™ 100 matrix is, therefore, reinforced by the polypropylene, a fabric noted for its chemical resistance, rot and fungus absence, and superior multi directional strength.
  • The water cured chemistry is ideal for use in hot, dry climates, where atmospheric humidity is almost non-existent.
  • A time saving, one day system with outstanding elastomeric and waterproofing properties, in any climate.

 ELASTO-DECK™ 5500 (Paintable waterproofing)

For waterproofing under thin-set mortared tiles, outdoor carpeting and wood decking.
TECH DATA SHEET | MAINTENANCE MANUAL
AVAILABLE COLORS:

Concrete Gray Tan Paintable

A liquid-applied, single-component, moisture-cured polyurethane membrane. ELASTO-DECK™ 5500 is widely used to waterproof concrete and plywood decks which are subsequently covered with outdoor carpeting, tiles set in thin-set mortar, or wood decking. The product is also recommended for all applications which require the waterproof surface to be painted, where a bitumen-extended polyurethane would not be suitable.

BASIC USES:
May be used under thin-set mortar or mortar bed tile installations. ELASTO-DECK™ 5500 is also available in a special thixotropic consistency for use over irregular surfaces such as foam roofs, in which case, it must be coated with ELASTO-GLAZE™ 6001 AL.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
All surfaces which are to be waterproofed with ELASTO-DECK™ 5500 must be free of contamination such as curing compounds, concrete hardeners, bond breakers, paints, etc. All surfaces must be dry, having a maximum water content of 20%. We recommend water-curing concrete instead of using concrete curing compounds. Only exterior grade plywood (5/8" (1.59 mm) minimum thickness) should be used. Concrete should be cleaned by sandblasting or acid-etching. After acid etching, allow a minimum drying time of 72 hours. Except for non-moving shrinkage cracks, all other cracks and joints must be sealed with ELASTO-THANE™ 230, a single-component, moisture-cured sealant manufactured by Pacific Polymers, Inc. All surfaces, where necessary, must be primed with ELASTO-DECK™ PRIMER prior to application of the coating system at a rate of 300-350 square feet per gallon (7.35-8.58 m2/liter), except for plywood in good condition.

All seams between plywood sheets, and those between metal flashing and the plywood deck, must be reinforced by embedding a 2 inch (5 cm) wide strip of glass cloth tape into wet ELASTO-DECK™ 5500, which is brushed evenly over the seam to a width of about 3 inches (7.6 cm) and a thickness of about 10 wet mils.

The application of ELASTO-DECK™ 5500 can subsequently be made immediately over the entire area, including the taped areas. Cracks in concrete must be treated in the same way. Where ELASTO-DECK™ 5500 is used as a protective coating on polyurethane foam roofs, it must be applied within 8 hours from the time the foam is installed. ELASTO-GLAZE™ 6001 AL must be applied over the ELASTO-DECK™ 5500 where exposed to direct sunlight.

TECH DATA SHEET
AVAILABLE COLOR:

Black

A fast drying, cold- applied, dual component material designed to form a soft, flexible Dampproofing and Gas Barrier Membrane, which resists potentially hazardous gasses or vapors from entering the structure. A black, dual component, water based, elastomeric membrane system. While having a low modulus and being hydrophobic in nature, this High Solids, Solvent Free, Rapid Drying System can be used on a wide variety of surfaces. Composition is a water dispersed, virgin synthetic rubber modified with asphalts. When applied at 77 degrees F and 50% R.H., the membrane system is 95% tack free within the first thirty (30) minutes of application. The remaining cure is provided as the unneeded catalyst and moisture is brought to the surface and evaporated. It is designed specifically for applications beneath slabs, between slabs, vertical below grade walls, shored walls (blind side waterproofing), roofing, tunnels, and non-potable water canals, ponds, and reservoirs, as well as Gas Vapor Barriers such as Methane, Hydrogen Sulfide, and Radon.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Excellent barrier to Hydrostatic Head pressure or moisture vapor transmission. As tested in accord with ASTM E-96-98, using procedure E, no water or vapor passage could be detected over a 528 hour test procedure. IMPERMEO-COAT II will effectively protect concrete, urethane foam and other substrates and will prevent moisture absorption.
  • Elongation: At 77°F, elongation at break, equals 2000% (ASTM D-412 without fabric). Excellent elongation, combined with superior low modulus, permits IMPERMEO-COAT II to expand and contract with natural thermal variations of various substrates, without losing bond. Will bridge structural cracks up to 3/8” without fabric.
  • Recovery: Recovery from 100% Elongation at 77°F is 95.4% per ASTM D-412.
  • Rapid Film Build: IMPERMEO-COAT II will fill pinholes, and voids on a vertical or horizontal surface faster than any sprayable elastomeric coating. Application is fast and enables a uniform high film buildup to 100 dry mils, wet on wet multiple passes, without sag, surface checking or mud cracking.
  • Alkali resistant: Excellent resistance to alkalis, in accordance with ASTM D-543.
  • Non-Oxidizing: Does not contain silicone or oxidizing ingredients such as marine oils, stearates, paraffins, vegetable oils. Will not oxidize in accordance with ASTM D-822.
  • Solvent Free: Contains water extended resins which cure by catalytic polymerization. Conforms to all air pollution requirements.
  • Flexibility: Retains ability to flex with movement of the structure without crack initiation and cut growth. Passes 1/8” mandrel test in 8 sec. @ -40 degrees F.
  • Fire Resistance: Self-extinguishing on horizontal surface under intermittent flame @ 1400o F, normal torch tip temperature as per ASTM C-542.
  • High Temperature Stability: Resists roof temperature heat and does not age harden at roof temperatures up to 200°F.
  • Initial Set: At 77°F, 50% R.H., the system is 95% cured within 30 minutes. Tack Time: At 77°F, 50% R.H. one minute.
  • No Unpleasant Odor: Since there are no toxic or odorous solvents, IMPERMEO-COAT II can be applied without discomfort.
  • No Plasticizers: There are no migratory plasticizers in IMPERMEO-COAT II. Many other types of coatings use plasticizers to give good initial flexible properties. As the plasticizer gradually leaches and leaves the coating, when exposed to direct sunlight and moisture over time, the coating becomes brittle, exhibiting poor flexibility and elongation properties. IMPERMEO-COAT II does not become brittle like other types.
